3 Holistic Wellness Tips - October Newsletter
🌿 Balance: Rooted & Rising Ground yourself in what sustains you while reaching for what inspires you.
Whew! This year is really flying by. Can you believe it? Just like that, we’re in October, and with it comes the beauty of autumn’s harvest. The changing colors of the leaves remind us of an important truth: balance is found when we are rooted in what grounds us.
Challenge or opportunity? Both are a choice.
In this new month, will you choose to be open to rise into new opportunities of growth or will you choose to stay stuck in seeing things as challenges? Your work, relationships, self image, your personal health goals.
Just like the trees, we too, can let go of what no longer serves us while holding steady to what keeps us strong. Being rooted gives us resilience. Rising invites us to step into new seasons of purpose, joy, and abundance. Together, these two movements create harmony—stability and growth, strength and expansion.
A Gentle Invitation for October
This month, I invite you to reflect on your own balance: Where are you rooted, and where are you choosing to rise?
Choose one practice from this newsletter to help you stay grounded while opening your heart to new possibilities.
3 Holistic Wellness Tips for Your Life
This month’s practices are designed to help you release stress, return to center, and create more space for joy—without rushing the process.
Holistic Wellness Reflection
Your roots are the anchors that keep you steady—your values, your faith, your self-care rituals, and your tribe / your circle / your closest relationships. All of these are the foundation that supports your growth.
Your rise is the courage to step into new opportunities, to grow beyond comfort zones, and to lean into possibility—even if it feels scary.
When both are honored, transitions into a new month can feel smoother and life feels more balanced.
Holistic Wellness In Action
Try this grounding-and-rising practice to reconnect with balance:
Sit quietly with your feet firmly planted on the ground.
Take a few slow, deep breaths.
Imagine roots extending from your feet deep into the earth, steady and strong.
Next, picture a soft light rising upward from your heart, expanding into the sky.
Notice how it feels to be held by your roots while also lifted by your rise. This dual awareness cultivates peace, clarity, and strength.
Monthly Positive Affirmation
I will find balance in being both rooted and rising.
I will honor the strength of my foundation and the beauty of my growth.
I choose to release what no longer serves me and welcome new opportunities with hope and courage.
I am ready, resilient, and expanding fully into my purpose.

How to Complete the Stress Cycle & Regulate your Nervous System
Stress is not just an occasional inconvenience—it’s an inevitable part of being human. We can’t escape it, from work, to family life, to social relationships, and to the communities we show up in—stress can and will happen.
The truth is, we were not designed to live in constant survival mode. Our nervous system has a built-in mechanism for returning us to balance, but if we don’t know how to complete the stress cycle, we will remain trapped in exhaustion, irritability, and burnout.
Why We Get Stuck in the Stress Cycle
The stress response is meant to be temporary—a short burst of survival energy followed by a return to calm. However, many of us never complete that cycle.
Instead, we get caught in:
Overthinking and catastrophic “what if” scenarios.
Emotional numbing through distractions like food, substances, or endless scrolling.
Burnout from constantly pushing ourselves without rest.
The way forward lies in intentionally engaging your parasympathetic nervous system—often called the “rest and digest” mode. This system signals safety, slows the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, and restores balance to the body.
